How My Dad Hurt His Back

The same day he arrived.

After sleeping for about 18 hours in a 24 hour period,

he has recovered.

But has decided no more wrestling

for a long while.

Happy Thanks 7 Birthday

On this day of thanks,
we are especially grateful for our oldest son
who is celebrating 7 years today.
We love this little guy so much.

Last week,
he had a Lego birthday party with some of his friends.
Kyler made and helped design all of the invitations.

They opened up to be a Lego rectangle. Inside was written "Come build some fun with Kyler at his 7th Birthday Party!" and then all of the party info.

We had a Lego Man Obstacle course, played Who Has the Lego,

and had a few Lego building challenges.

There was cake, ice cream, and presents (lots of new Lego's).

Kyler had a lot of fun

and was so glad so many of his friends could come

(we ended up with 14 little boys running around!).

We celebrated his actual birthday today
after our Thanksgiving feast
with pie, cake, birthday candles, and presents from the fam.

was delicious!
Eric BBQed our Turkey
(which turned out perfectly),

the Stock's made more than half of the
yumminess that covered the table,
and between me, my parents, and the boys
we set the tables and prepared a few other dishes.

windows to look through and see the pretty snow while I stay warm inside

 The piano to learn how to play beautiful music someday

 Our soft cozy bed.

 The space heater in my bathroom.

 My yoga mat to exercise so that now I can touch my toes.

 Kacin is thankful for . . .
my family because I like them.

 my books because I can read them sometimes.

 My play phone so I can play with it.

 My backpack to carry toys when I go on trips and stuff.

 My bed so I can sleep all night.

 Kyler is thankful for . . .
the piano because I am learning how to play it.
I can play the black keys, too!

 myself because I can build lots of lego sets.

 school because I learn math and that 6+6=12.

 Silly bands because I like to wear them and I am practicing so I can wear them to school without playing with them.

 KING 5 News so then I know what the weather is.

 The snow so I can play in it and maybe have a snowball fight.

And Kyler,
who had a really hard time narrowing it down to just five pictures,
slid by with six,
and wanted to add that he is thankful for our family! (me too!!)

Two Minutes and Counting

"Uh, is this what mommy and Kacin do all day?",

Eric asked Kyler

after we challenged him

to beat our best time.

Well,

sometimes.

This is why you wanted me to be

a stay at home mom, right E?

So I can balance Kacin for over two min?

(we could've gone longer but we got bored)

Eric put forth a good effort,

but did not come close to our time.

Plus, he was disqualified for bending his knees.

We discovered Kacin makes the best partner
for this game
not one of us.
